IHS DECA had 50 students competing in 20 different events at the State DECA competition
IHS DECA had 50 students competing in 20 different events at the State DECA competition on February 18th in Des Moines. Indianola DECA had 11 students qualify for the International Competition in Anaheim, California in April!
The following students qualified by placing in the top 3 in their respective role-play events:
Lake Martin – Accounting Applications (1st)
Michael Rothchild – Principles of Finance (1st)
Nick Fehl & Brady Meyers – Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making (2nd)
Lydia Mahlstadt – Automotive Services Marketing (3rd)
Gage Boersma – Principles of Hospitality and Tourism (3rd)
The following students qualified by placing in the top 2 in their written & presentation events:
Lake Martin & Abby Tlach – Integrated Marketing Campaign-Product (1st)
Maci Darr – Business Growth Plan (1st)
Franchise Business Plan – Hasie Cambron, Brayden Forret, & Jack Hilton (1st)
Indianola will also be represented at the state level by Maci Darr who went through a rigorous application & interview process and was voted in as a State Officer for the 2024-2025 school year.
